Circulation and Video Policy
Your library card must be presented to check out material. Cardholder must be present.
Anyone with overdue items and/or fines over $3.00 may not check out material.
There is a limit of 10 books, magazines, or cassettes that may be borrowed. Two videos may be checked out by adult cardholders only. (18 years of age or older) The library reserves the right to limit the number of items checked out.
There is no fee for borrowing videos, but there is an overdue fine of $.25 per calendar day per video.
The loan period for all items, except videos, is two weeks. Video loans are for two days. Videos must be returned during open hours.
Fines are $.10 per item per calendar day for adult materials and $.05 for children’s items. The maximum charge is $5.00 or cost of replacement.
Fines will not be charged it items are returned within five calendar days of the due date. There is no grace period for videos.
The replacement charge for a lost, stolen, or damaged card is $3.00 for an adult card, $1.00 for a child’s card.
Library material may be renewed once if there are no reserves. No renewals will be taken over the phone.
Videos are $.25 per item per calendar day, with a maximum of $10 or replacement cost. Borrower is responsible for returning movies in good condition or for paying cost of repair or replacement.
Movies are copyright protected. Please observe all copyright laws. Library is not liable for any damage to equipment that may occur.
Any library material, with the exception of movies, may be reserved. We will hold a reserve for you for 3 library open days. If not picked up, the item will go to the next patron on the waiting list.
New books will have a loan period of 7 days and cannot be renewed. Reserves of new books will be held for 2 library open days, and no reserves will be accepted for books until the library has received the item. A book is considered new for 30 days following its arrival at the library, this period may be extended if demand for the book remains high.
Patrons agree to abide by Springboro Public Library’s Circulation and Video Policy. Patrons who are disruptive (loud, abusive, violent, etc.) will be asked to leave. Library Staff will determine what constitutes disruptive behavior. Parents are responsible for their children’s behavior while in the library. Failure to abide by this policy may result in suspension of borrowing and computer privileges.
